Mediterra

Everybody can use a good deal these days. But you don't have to sacrifice quality for price. At Mediterra, you can enjoy $2 tapas in the bar area from 4:30-6:30 and after 9pm on Mondays-Thursdays. You can choose from their list of tapas, priced at $5 or $6 originally. Pictured above are torta espanola (frittata), albondigas (meatballs), empanadas, beef kabab, and crab croquettes. Everything was good. My only advice is to eat them while they're hot, especially the beef kabab.

The regular menu is priced higher, but definitely worthwhile both for the taste and ambiance. You are surrounded by a great collection of wines and the food is up to par. So if you are having dinner here, plan to stay over two hours from start to finish, and go with company that you enjoy. Be sure to save room for dessert & coffee! Pictured at the bottom is a raspberry tart a la mode.

The waitstaff was great. Attentive, made good suggestions, prompt, and with good timing. Courses were served not too soon and not too late. I myself am the slowest eater of the bunch, yet I never felt for one moment that I was being rushed.

Oh, and I have to give a special shout-out to the breads. The complimentary basket and dipping oil was a great intro to what was a truly enjoyable dining experience.
