This old fashioned ice cream shop was featured on our family favorite show, Man v. Food. Unfortunately, when it came time to go, I forgot what Adam Richman enjoyed on the show, so I just asked the server to make a suggestion between two that caught my eye: the Franklin Mint and the Stock Market Crunch. Though I was leaning towards the crunch of pretzels with peanut butter, I didn't want to be rude after he suggested the mint ice cream.
I'm not sure what the prices were like prior to being featured on the show, but I'm sure there is a connection. My husband's Broken Hearts sundae with just two scoops of vanilla topped with cherries and strawberries was $10, my Franklin Mint was also $10 for just a couple of layers of mint chocolate chip ice cream and filigreed decoration, and my friend's Peach Melba was $8.50.
Over $30 for ice cream! That's the price of dinner in some places.
Needless to say, we can file this under "been there, done that." There are many other ice cream shops for me to enjoy without emptying my wallet.
